Editing Styles

I’ve noticed that many photographers have a specific editing style when it comes to processing their photographs before handing them over to their happy customers. I personally love all styles and believe that each style portrays the client’s mood and personality. While some like it bright and colorful, others prefer soft and dreamy. I’ve had a few that prefer an edgy, dark look as well dirty and rustic. I know that many people do not understand much about editing processes as they have been used to only being told how to pose for photos, but from what I’ve seen from personal experience and my own sense of style, I thought I’d share with all of you the different styles of editing that I use and how simple tweaks can make so much of a difference to the photos themselves.

Event: Heidy Turns 15!

I’ve known Heidy since she was about 4 years old. She is a very talented young lady who sings both in a small group and as a soloist. She very beautiful as you can all see. Her color theme was a centered around the color HOT PINK and boy was it bright. The decorations were beautiful and the formal setting provided a perfect backdrop for this princess to reach her throne. She had her friends dance a waltz, a short skit of what it’s like to grow up from playing with playing with doll hair to doing her own her, and a belly dancer to greet her and the audience. Overall, it was a beautiful evening and I was happy to be able to share it with all of them.

Events: Brianna Turns 4

I have known Alexis and Lilibeth since I was a child. We grew up in the same church and participated in many activities together. Their daughter Brianna is very sweet and was celebrating her 4th birthday with her friends and family. An inflatable slide was rented and the pool was cleaned for them to enjoy. This Pirates and Princesses party was very cute, casual, and lots of fun.

Portrait Photography: Francisco

Francisco is my coworker at Natural Living Inc. He had requested that I take picture of him to send to his family in Mexico who have not seen him in over 8 years. He is very shy and was very tense the first 20 minutes of shooting. After many jokes and several posing tips, he was able to feel more comfortable in front of the camera. His family received the photos recently and were very happy with the results. He was only told he looked like a “model” but he got several date invitations by some female friends here in Orlando. Haha! Melisa the photographer? How about Melisa the matchmaker?! 😉

I decided to make a blog so that other’s may see my work and have some prospective business. Not sure what to write right now since I’m at work (sshhh! it’s a secret!). I’ll post stuff up later.
